Jamie Foxx rescues person from burning car

Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx pulled someone from a burning car last night after an accident took place nearby his home outside Los Angeles, a member of Foxx's team confirmed to ABC News today.

A rep for the actor also confirmed the news.

"Jamie didn't hesitate. He jumped out and ran to the car," the team member told ABC News of the incident.

Police have not stated that it was Foxx who stepped in to help, but the Ventura County Fire Department confirmed separately that it responded Monday night to an accident fitting the description, which is still under investigation. First responders transported the person in the accident to a local hospital, the department said.

Additionally, a police press release says a 32-year-old man was driving his Toyota Tacoma when he hit a "drainage ditch," causing the vehicle to roll many times over and burst into flames.

"Two witnesses that were near the collision scene ran to the burning, overturned truck in an attempt to free the driver. One of the witnesses retrieved a rescue tool from his vehicle allowing the two citizens to break the window, cut the seat belt, and extricate the driver," police said in the release, noting that the driver was eventually "arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol."

Injuries to the man included major head, chest and neck trauma.

Details of Foxx's heroics are still coming in, but this comes just a week after he presented at the Golden Globe Awards. Foxx, 48, was at the awards ceremony with his daughter Corinne, who was Miss Golden Globe.

"#daddydaughtertime.....still celebrating my daughter. Great week this week. Miss golden globe," he wrote on Instagram next to a photo of him with her two days ago.

Foxx has not commented on the crash, nor have his reps.
