Lumosity to Pay $2 Million to Settle FTC Deceptive Advertising Charges for Its “Brain Training” Program

This makes me so happy. They advertise nonstop on every media outlet I use, claiming their colorful little crappy puzzles will make you a genius, charge a ridiculously high monthly rate for said crappy puzzles, and send you oodles of junk mail if you do a trial.

Fuck Lumosity.

To anyone who wants to improve their cognition, and is tempted by lumosity, I highly recommend learning a second language instead. Not only are there multiple ways to do it cheaply/free, but there's also substantially more evidence to show it actually helps.
