Knife found buried on OJ Simpson's former estate.

TMZ's Harvey Levin talks about the reported discovery of a knife on the estate of O.J. Simpson.

- A knife was reportedly found buried on the estate of football legend and one-time murder suspect, O.J. Simpson, according to TMZ.

The folding buck knife was found by a construction worker on the perimeter of the house while he was demolishing the house in 1998, law enforcement sources tell the celebrity gossip website.

"There are signs that it in fact had blood on it," said TMZ Executive Producer Harvey Levin.

The worker allegedly gave the knife to a police officer who was patrolling the area, off-duty while working at a movie site, who never turned it in.

The police officer retired earlier this year and told a friend at the Los Angeles Police Department about the knife. That worker told his superiors who demanded the officer hand over the knife.

The LAPD is secretly investigating. The knife is being tested for hair and fingerprints, adds TMZ.

Simpson was found not guilty in the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman.

The murder weapon was never discovered.

O.J. Simpson cannot be prosecuted again due to double jeopardy laws.

The case that captivated the nation is back in the headlines as of late as the FX channel airs the wildly popular new series, "The People vs. O.J. Simpson."
