Grand final squads: Bridge misses out

MARK Bridge has lost his battle to be fit in time for the A-League grand final, left out of Western Sydney’s squad for Sunday’s decider.

The Wanderers striker had been hoping to make a miraculous recovery after injuring his ankle during last weekend’s semi-final win over Central Coast Mariners, but Bridge’s hopes were officially over when Jason Trifiro was named in his place in Thursday afternoon’s squad announcement.

Brisbane has an injury drama of its own as striker Dimitri Petratos battles to recover from an ankle injury picked up last weekend.

The 21-year-old has been named in the Roar squad as coach Mike Mulvey attempts to give him every chance of taking his place at Suncorp Stadium, although two people must still be omitted from the 18-man group named by Brisbane on Thursday.
